Newt Gingrich is right
I am not overly fond of Newt, but I did catch on to his remarks the other day during the campaign:
He referred to President Obama as the “food stamp president.” I do agree with Newt here. It has been a while and we have very short memories, especially when it comes to politics, but we have a high unemployment, and a lot of people who are now on government subsidies.
Just the other day, President Obama nixed the “Keystone Pipeline” costing hundreds of jobs. Its not the first time he has done something like that. A moratorium was passed during the BP oil tragedy that cost us jobs too. The problem, however, is not the President, nor is it Gingrich, but it is our entitlement mentality and the mentality that we are too good for some jobs.
Jobs are out there, and any job is better than no job at all. I have done janitorial jobs, grocery jobs, maintenance, hotel desk, mail room, librarian, waiter, restaurant host, public transit committee and board of directors and more. As long as I have a job and money coming in. We need our children to strive to be their best, get the good grades, and have ambition. We ourselves sometimes need ambition too. Government is NOT responsible for getting you a job, or supporting you, YOU are. Besides, the only thing government really knows how to do is to screw things up. Government is not very good at much at all. I started working at the age of 13 myself, and do NOT regret that.
Working at a young age (in good work environments) helped teach me responsibility. I only worked a few hours here and there, and continue to work, 23 years later.
