The New St MArk COGIC of Portsmouth

December 7, 2011

This would be my primary church.

Why go to church in Portsmouth, you say, when I live more than 10 miles away? The quality of the services. Elder Pastor Michael D Green does one of the best jobs preaching that I have ever seen. He brings the Word to life in a real way and we are encouraged to go into our Bibles and read it.

The New St Mark, better known as “The Mark Empowerment Temple” opened about 7 years ago at its present site and is a part of the church of God in Christ family of churches. The greatest thing is that while some individual members may miss a beat due to work or other obligations (for example, my strange work schedules), the church itself never does, and the members have easy access to many of the programs and events that go on there.

There are many ongoing programs that benefit the community, the youth, women, and aspiring leaders of all types. I have many friends that go there. It is a modest-sized congregation.

“The Mark” is on public transportation routes that operate evenings and Sundays, so it is easier for members to attend, and is a moment from the exit 7 off ramps from I-264 in Portsmouth. if you are interested and would like to come, please¬†comment here or otherwise let me know!
